Bay Area Serbs Basketball Team Plays in Canton, OH.

The SNF held their annual basketball tournament in Canton OH on June 11th to 13th.

Participating once again in the tournament was the Bay Area Serbs Basketball team comprised of men from the Bay Area and beyond.

This was their fifth year in a row fielding a competitive team of talented players.

The team was comprised of the following players and coaching staff:

The competition at the tournaments is increasingly dominated by Division 1 College players, Serbian Semi Pro players and highly competitive teams who play year-round. The Bay Area Serbs played hard, and their last game ended in an overtime thriller where they lost by one point!

They had a great time at the dances and events which were attended by thousands of excited Serbs of all ages, dancing, enjoying Serbian food and drinks and making new friends and reuniting with old from past tournaments. Parents (and members of the FSBS) attending the tournament to lend their support were Robert Adzich and George Vukcevich.

Next year’s tournament will be played in Chicago with many additional friends and family members already planning to attend to support the team!

The First Serbian Benevolent Society graciously underwrote the team with a donation enabling them to pay for their accommodations.

They look forward to playing again next year in Chicago!
