The SNF held their 85th annual basketball tournament, returning to Milwaukee Wi on June 12th to 14th. Participating once again in the tournament was the Bay Area Serbs Basketball team comprised of men from the Bay Area and beyond.

This was their fourth year in a row fielding a competitive team of talented players, with a new player, Andrej Kulic joining them for the first time.

The team was comprised of the following players and coaching staff:

PLAYERS

Dominick Adzich

Gabe Adzich

Nikola Copic

Andrej Kuljic

Mirko Macura

George Medan

Stefan Medan

 Tomislav Medan

 Nemanja Rajic

 Zaria Vukcevich

COACH

Sam Vukcevich

The competition at the tournaments is increasingly dominated by Division 1 College players, Serbian Semi Pro players and highly competitive teams who play year round. With our geographically challenged team playing together occasionally, they narrowly lost two games and won one; a testament to their determination, skills and their height advantage. They had a great time at the dances and events which were attended by thousands of excited Serbs of all ages, dancing, enjoying Serbian food and drinks and making new friends.

The First Serbian Benevolent Society graciously underwrote the team with a donation enabling them to pay for their accommodations.

They look forward to playing again next year.
